Getting Started: Growing the Mafia and Leveling Up

So, you are finished in creating your Profile? (Be sure, of the three choices given, you have selected MANIAC and not MOGUL, or FEARLESS). It is believed that Maniacs have faster energy regeneration, although I discovered this too late because I have been enjoying my Mogul already.

The only real issue with the game seems to be in knowing how to play. A definitive guide to Mafia Wars seems to be the missing. This guide is intended to help beginners just forming their mafia family.

The first and the most important thing for beginners to know, is to GROW the family. This can be achieved by inviting friends, visiting Facebook pages dedicated to growing families and getting in on the networking action. The family must grow to keep doing jobs and gain more strength for fights. This should not be a problem due to the number of people who play Mafia Wars and are constantly seeking new family members themselves. With regards to this, I advise you to search (in the Facebook search toolbar), Stone Cold Pimps application and AddMe! Application. These applications help a lot in growing your mafia. In less than one week, I was able to grow my mafia to two hundred!

Second, players should KEEP LEVELING UP as often as possible. Levels are increased according to experience points. These points are given for jobs and for winning fights. As levels increase new jobs are opened up and new properties and inventory items become available.
